Spilling the beans on...William Shakespeare and other Elizebethans from Around the Globe

This book is about a famous poet, play writer, and an actor. In high school you might just learn about him. His last name begins with an S and his first name begins with a W. He was born on the 23rd of April and he died at the age of 52. Who is he? Did you guess who he is? Yip, he's William Shakespeare, the best play writer, poet and the best actor ever. Well, that's what I think. You don't have to agree with me.

I found this book very interesting. The Author couldn't tell us everything about William Shakespeare because he lived a long time ago, and we can't go back in time now can we. It would be awesome if we could, wouldn't it.

Well back to William Shakespeare. He is totally awesome.

Shakespeare wrote plays because he had a passion for it. He loved telling stories and acting. He wrote the plays because he wanted to inspire the audience. He wrote tragedies about Kings like Henry the 8th and James the 1st. He also wrote about romance in a play called Romeo and Juliet. They ended up dying horrible deaths, yuck.

In Winter they had to perform in the cold snow. So Shakespeare and his team of actors built a new theatre called The Globe. Now the audience and the actors could be warm while they watched and acted.

Shakespeare was a very funny man. He wrote lots of comedies like A Midsummer Night's Dream.

He married Anne and they had two girls and one boy. The boy died.

William caught an illness that couldn't be cured. He wrote a will that his favourite daughter got the house and the money and his other daughter got to live with her. William died on his birthday in 1616.

I wont tell you everything because it will mean that there is no point in reading it and it will spoil your fun. I hope you enjoy it.

Ireland

This book is about the horrible histories of Ireland. They tell you all about the saints; the catholics; the Irish women and the horror of the wars! I learnt all sorts of interesting things about the blood Sundays and the diseases of that time. These horrible facts, stories and quizzes were created by the illustrator, Martin Brown and the author, Terry Deary. I like this book because it's history with a twist to it!!!
